Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! This past week was the week of the Defensive Linemen. DL’s seemed to dominate in IDP leagues more than usual. I wouldn’t count on that trend to continue. Stick to the LB’s – they are gold!
This past week’s Top Dawgs
DL Bryce Fisher SEA 7 tackles, 2 assists, and 2 sacks.
DL Grant Wistrom SEA 7 tackles, 2 assists, and 1 sack.
LB Karlos Dansby ARI 9 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.
DB David Macklin ARI 7 tackles, 1 assist, 4 passes-defensed, and 1 int.
Seadog’s picks of the week
DL Orpheus Roye CLE vs. Houston Roye is tearing it up this year for DL’s. Going against Houston; this is a no-brainer.
DL Paul Spicer and Reggie Hayward JAX vs. Dallas The Cowboy’s offensive line is a bit beat up. Jacksonville will be bringing the pressure on Bledsoe this week.
DL Warren Sapp and Derrick Burgess OAK vs. Tennessee One DT and one DE; These guys have picked it up lately, so play them while they’re hot.
LB Karlos Dansby ARI vs. Dallas Dansby is coming on strong. If he’s still available in your league, grab him and put him in your line-up this week.
LB Akin Ayodele JAX vs. St. Louis The Rams are a team in disarray. Look for Ayodele to have success rushing the passer this week.
LB Tedi Bruschi NE vs. Buffalo I may be jumping the gun a little bit here, but I’m predicting that Bruschi will make a triumphant return to the Pat’s linebacker position against the Bills on Sunday. I’ve got him and I’m playing him.
DB Asante Samuel NE vs. Buffalo The Bills are talking about going more vertical. The Pats are banged up in the secondary. Samuel has played well this year. This would be a good week to give him a shot.
DB Stuart Schweigert OAK vs. Tennessee Woodson is out; Gibson is out. Oakland’s DBs will be active
DB Sheldon Brown PHI vs. Denver Brown is putting up the points; keep playing him.
Well, that wraps up this segment of the Seadog Report. Now I’d like to introduce a new feature that we are going to bring you this year. As you may or may not know, a twelve team IDP-only league has been started this year in the Sharktank. We call it “The Wall”. It is comprised of some IDP veterans as well as some IDP “newbies”. Regardless as to IDP background, these guys all know their way around fantasy football and are showing it in this league. We’d like for you to follow along with us this year to perhaps glean some insight into the wonderful world of IDPs (plus, it will give you a good chance to make fun of yours truly).
The Wall Report
Parity. Just as the NFL has strived and attained league parity, so goes The Wall. We’ve reached remarkable league parity. Everyone has a shot at this point. The next couple of weeks should start to show a little more separation for the leaders. It’ll be interesting to see.
BEARS (3-4) @ PANACHEVITZ (3-4)
1985 Bears, SoCalIrishSports 142
Not-so-Snazzy Panachevitz, Panachevitz 158.5
-The Panachevitz team has turned it around with a 2nd win in a row. Huge points from DE Bryce Fisher sealed the victory while Cato June (I thought he wasn’t supposed to play) was the star for the Bears.
DESTRUCTION (5-2) @ HAS A KILLER D (4-3)
Weapons of Mass Destruction, Paddler 130.5
Andre the Giant Has A Killer D, Dgack 152.5
-Team Dgack stretched their winning streak to 3 games this week by taking out one of the league’s big guns – Paddler’s Destruction team. Another big game for DE’s as Schobel for Dgack and R Brock for Paddler each had big weeks.
SEADOG (4-3) @ LARCENY (2-4-1)
Team Seadog, Seadog 145
Brooklyn Larceny, CleffedUp 121
-Another 3-game winning streak as Team Seadog defeated Cleffed’s team this week. Crowell and Vilma paved the way for the Seadog while DT D Robertson came up big for Cleffed.
ROUGHNESS #42 (3-4) @ BUS (3-4)
Necessary Roughness #42, Johnnyballgame 157
The Hussy Bus , Hussy Bus 164
-The Bus continues to roll as they took out the mighty Ballgame team. This was probably the best battle of the week. Karlos Dansby was the star for the Bus team while Sheldon Brown led the way for JBG. I bet that Team JBG has put up more points the past few weeks than most teams, but his record just isn’t reflecting it. The Hussy Bus is a team with a mission. Team Seadog is not looking forward to playing them this week.
CHARGERS (2-5) @ GBALLS (4-3)
lt1800’s Chargers, lt1800 134
Team GBalls, Gballs1 176
-Gballs got back on his winning ways this week despite some line-up discrepancies. Edwards, Pierce, and Lewis dominated while the Chargers team got production from Kassell and Polk.
WRECKS (3-4) @ FECEFLINGERS (5-1-1)
Deck’s Wrecks, Decktard 150.5
Geriatric Feceflingers, SJSwarm 164.5
-Swarm’s team had a blowout Monday night and was able to defeat team Decktard. Once again Zach Thomas paved the way for Decktard while Demorrio Williams and Odell Thurman led the Feceflinger team.
