The Seadog Report

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! The dreaded week #6 byes are upon us. Let’s take a look at some favorable match ups as we “tackle” the large number of IDP players on the shelf this week.

Seadog’s picks of the week

DL Leonard Little STL vs. Seattle While Little isn’t one of my favorite guys off the field, he’s usually good for a couple of tackles and a sack each week. He should be above average against the Seahawks on Sunday.

DL Shaun Ellis NYJ vs. Miami This is a good match up for Ellis this week and he’s been producing of late. Both himself and LB Bryan Thomas should be good for a few sacks going against the ‘Phins O-line.

DL Chris Hovan TB vs. Cincinnatti I like this match up because Cincy’s been giving up the sacks lately and they are having chronic trouble with their Centers this year. Hovan should have some IDP worth this week.

Keep an eye on Buffalo DLs They haven’t set the world on fire this year, especially Aaron Schobel. If they are going to do anything big, this would be the match up to do it.

LB Demeco Ryans HOU vs. Dallas Ryans is writing himself a ticket to defensive rookie of the year. He should be gold again on Sunday.

LB Al Wilson DEN vs. Oakland Wilson was huge last week and that should continue with the Raider match up. Play him while he’s hot.

LB Chris Draft CAR vs. Baltimore Morgan is out for the rest of the year and Draft is officially the man in the middle for Carolina. This is good news for all of us Draft owners.

LB Leroy Hill SEA vs. St Louis It appears teams are trying to stay away from Julian Peterson so they are aiming more for Hill’s side of the field. His tackle and sack numbers have increased the past couple of weeks that they played. I’d give him a shot this week.

Keep an eye on Atlanta LBs Hartwell is coming off the injury list, but will he play much. Brooking as MLB? Demorrio as WLB? This is a good match up for them against the Giants, but the LB situation for the Falcons from an IDP standpoint is a bit tough to call at the moment.

DB Ryan Clark PIT vs. Kansas City Clark earns a spot here as a result of his strong play this past weekend. He’s been fairly consistent with points this season so this should be a good safe play on Sunday.

DB Daniel Bullocks DET vs. Buffalo Time to see this young gun make his mark. I’ve got a feeling he will have some excellent numbers against the Bills’ offense.

DB Quentin Jammer SD vs. San Francisco He’s another guy that has consistently produced the past few weeks. Maybe not the greatest match up this week, but I really like the consistency.

Keep an eye Tampa Bay safeties Jermaine Phillips has been on fire in the IDP world, but Jon Gruden likes the look of Kalvin Pearson as the new possible starter. This smells of “DB by committee” which was the case last year on this team. This may not be good so it certainly bears a close watch this weekend.

Well, that wraps up this week’s Seadog Report. Ya can’t play Rodney thisweek but ya gotta stick with Ray. Thanks for reading!
