The Seadog Report

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! Not much time to get into the Report this week. Health issues and plumbing emergencies are stealing my time this week. Here’s a quick look at some match-ups for week #8. I don’t know about you, but my DL recommendations are killing me. I’ll try to do better this week.

Seadog’s picks of the week

DLs Justin Smith and Robert Geathers CIN vs. Atlanta Vick is highly mobile, but he’s also yielding a lot of sacks. If Cincy’s defense can hold steady then these guys should get some points this week.

DL Luis Castillo SD vs. St Louis This guy has been a very steady and solid producer of IDP points this year. I think he’ll get a sack and maybe a fumble against the Rams.

DL Orpheus Roye CLE vs. NY Jets The big guy seemed to wake up last week. I like this match up against the Jets.

Keep an eye on DL Elvis Dumervil DEN I give the credit to Fantasyshark’s Gary Chamberlain (aka SJSwarm) for the big shout out for this guy. 5 sacks in two weeks certainly got my attention.

LB Demeco Ryans HOU vs. Tennessee The Titans have given the ball to Travis Henry the past few weeks and he’s running wild. This rookie MLB should rack up the points this week.

LB EJ Henderson MIN vs. New England Ya know, Minny’s defense isn’t half bad and Henderson has been quietly producing lately. He should have a fistful of tackles against the Pats on Monday night.

LB Chris Draft CAR vs. Dallas With a rookie QB at the helm Dallas will be looking to run. Draft should get his share of tackles and maybe a sack or an INT.

LB Shelton Quarles TB vs. NY Giants This guy is on fire – if you have him, you’ve got to be playing him.

Keep an eye on San Diego, NY Giants, and San Francisco LBs San Diego is a mess with Merriman having steroid issues and Phillips hurt. I’d stay away from San Diego on the LB front. The Giants have lost Arrington so Emmons and Torbor are replacing him. San Fran is going back to the 4-3 defense. Lawson will be an interesting play in that scenario.

DB Patrick Surtain KC vs. Seattle He’s putting up some respectable numbers for a CB as of late.

DB Asante Samuel NE vs. Minnesota Another CB who is doing well the past few weeks. New England’s DBs are banged up, but I like the production I’m seeing from him (and from Rodney).

DB Marlin Jackson IND vs. Denver When he’s healthy, he’s a good play. I like him against the Broncos this week.

Keep an eye on Baltimore and Chicago Both are starting a couple of young safeties this week (Gerome Sapp BAL and Todd Johnson CHI). It’ll be interesting to see how they fare.

Well, that wraps up this week’s Seadog Report. Play  Rodney and play Ray this week. Thanks for reading!
