The Seadog Report

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! It’s soon that the dreaded bye weeks will be behind us, but we’ve got one more week to go to get rid of them, so let’s do it!

Seadog’s picks of the week

DLs  I’m just going to pack it in with my DL picks, I’m afraid. Play Justin Smith CIN and Julius Peppers CAR every week because they are money (actually Peppers is on a bye this week, but you get my drift). Michael Strahan NYG is pretty good too. There. Those are the best DL recommendations I can make. If they fail, then I’m hopeless.

Keep an eye on DL KGB GB vs. Buffalo this week Okay, okay, I couldn’t help myself. I recommended this guy a couple of weeks ago and he was a flop. From an IDP standpoint he’s been a poor scorer so far this year. But here’s something to think about. The Bills are moving OL Jason Peters over to play left tackle for the first time. This could pay off nicely for KGB this week. Are you willing to take the chance?

LB Julian Peterson SEA vs. Oakland I don’t know if this is the best match up this week, but Peterson is one hot commodity right now. 22 tackles, 4 assists, and 5 sacks over the last 3 weeks makes him awfully hard to sit, even if it is against the anemic Raider offense.

LB Will Witherspoon STL vs. Kansas City It looks like it’s the Larry “the Sledgehammer” Johnson show in KC right now. Witherspoon should tear it up for IDP this week.

LBs Gary Brackett and Cato June IND vs. New England This game is being touted as “Brady vs. Manning”, but I think it’s really going to be RB Laurence Maroney vs. the not-so-good Indy run defense. Brackett is a solid play every week, but the Colts have June flying to the ball right now. He should be primed for a big week Sunday night.

LB Andra Davis CLE vs. San Diego Davis is usually an every week starter for most deep IDP leagues, but if you need to choose between him and someone else in your IDP league this week, he certainly warrants consideration. LT gets the ball. LT runs with the ball. Davis tackles LT. this is a no-brainer.

Keep an eye on the Atlanta LB situation Well, it looks like Hartwell is having some problems with his knees once again. Since he’s been in the line-up the last couple of weeks it has ruined both his scoring as well as Demorrio Williams. Please Coach Mora, for the sake of all of us Demorrio Williams IDP owners, please put Hartwell back on the bench! You’re killing me.

DB Ken Hamlin SEA vs. Oakland Another guy that is just plain hot right now. He’s having a great season so far. Grab him and play him before it’s too late.

DB Sean Taylor WAS vs. Dallas Taylor is a solid play every week, and you’ve got to like this match-up against the youngster at the helm for Dallas.

DB Darrent Williams DEN vs. Pittsburgh The Steelers will look to try to exploit Williams the same way Peyton and the Colts did last week. I think Williams rebounds in a big way and pulls off a couple of big plays this week.

Well, that wraps up this week’s Seadog Report. Remember, always play Rodney and always play Ray – they are money!   Thanks for reading!
