The Seadog Report – Week 14

Howdy Sharkfans! Not much fanfare this week, so here are some Seadog recommendations to help you out for Week 14.

DT – Tommie Harris, CHI – I mentioned Harris last week, but this is another good matchup for him to produce this week.

DT – Vince Wilfork, NE

– Playing a hunch with this one as the matchup isn’t the best.

Keep an eye on the

Minnesota situation where Kevin Williams and Pat Williams have both been suspended (or possibly suspended). They are trying to appeal, but if you regularly play either one of those guys then you had better come up with a plan “B” just in case.

Strong DT plays this week (favorable matchups):

Chicago

,

Jacksonville,

Detroit,

Washington

DE – Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney,

IND – Mmmm … Bengals …

DE – Mike Montgomery, GB –

Montgomery has been solid as of late. He should have a pretty good matchup against the Texans this week.

DE – Shaun Ellis, NYJ – This is a good week to play Ellis as the Jets play the 49ers this week.

Strong

DE

plays this week (favorable matchups):

New York

Jets,

Jacksonville,

Detroit,

Green Bay

LB – Jon Beason and Thomas Davis, CAR – Not that you’d ever sit these guys …

LB – Brandon Johnson, CIN – Nice under-the-radar guy to play at the LB slot in your lineup this week.

LB – A.J. Hawk, GB – Might be worth a start this week if you don’t regularly play him.

LB – Lofa Tatupu, SEA – I know I recommended Lofa last week and he wasn’t so hot. I’d stick with him one more week as he should have a good matchup with the Patriots. If he doesn’t produce this week then sit him down on the end of your bench for the rest of the year.

A couple of situations to keep an eye on this week: Derrick Johnson is moving to MLB for KC. It might be worth a few more points from him, but he’s been a big under-achiever this year too. LB Gary Brackett is out for a couple of weeks (possibly more) for the Colts. The most recent reports have Buster Davis taking over in the middle, but pay attention to Tyjuan Haglar as he looks for playing time too. Nate Webster might be back for

Denver this week. This could affect the IDP production of Jamie Winborn and Wesley Woodyard. Potential problems looming for Antonio Pierce because of the Plaxico debacle. This could affect your fantasy team come playoffs if something were to happen to Pierce.

Strong LB plays this week (favorable matchups):

Carolina

,

Washington,

Seattle,

San Francisco,

Miami

S – Michael Lewis, SF – Good matchup; solid points.

S –

Brandon Merriwether,

NE – Now that I mention him, he’ll probably have a lousy week. Not a great matchup actually, but I like his point production lately.

S –

Eric Weddle,

SD – Hot! Hot! Hot!

Strong S plays this week (favorable matchups):

San Francisco

,

Seattle,

Dallas,

Green Bay,

Kansas City

CB – Quentin Jammer, SD – Jammer is the hottest IDP CB on the market right now (I just copied this one from last week – why not? The guy is on fire.)

CB – Fakhir Brown, STL – Playing a hunch with this one. Should be a good matchup though.

CB – Maurice Leggett, KC – Don’t know much about Maurice, but he’s been steady with the point production and he should have a good matchup with

Denver this week.

Strong CB plays this week (favorable matchups):

Philadelphia

,

St Louis,

Indianapolis,

Chicago

Well, these are some of my recommendations for Week 14. Thanks for reading!
