The Seadog Report Week #3

Howdy Sharkfans! Here’s a quick hitting Seadog Report this week. There are some match-ups starting to develop that make strong plays for week #3 or at least bear keeping an eye on these guys for potential waiver grabs.

DT – Casey Hampton PIT / Mike Patterson PHI – Both Philly and Pittsburgh are giving up some decent points at the DT position. Neither one of these guys has really started out the season with an IDP bang, but they both warrant consideration this week based on the match-up.

DE – Andre Carter and Jason Taylor WAS – Carter and Taylor are not necessarily bench sitters, but Carter, in particular, hasn’t exactly gotten untracked yet compared to last years production. I look for him to snap out of it against Arizona.

DE – Dewayne White DET – San Francisco leads the league in sacks allowed and they are near the top in IDP points allowed to defensive ends. This should be a good match-up.

DE – Trent Cole PHI – I know Cole has been a disappointment so far, but stick with him this week. Philly DLs should have some pretty good points against the Steelers.

DE – Lawrence Jackson SEA – This is my “gut” pick this week. The Rams are 2nd in sacks allowed and Jackson is coming off of a 2-sack game last week. This looks like it has the makings of a decent match-up for DE.

LB – D’Qwell Jackson and Andra Davis CLE – Baltimore’s offense is prone to allow some big IDP production at the LB position. Both of these guys should do well against the Ravens.

LB – Jon Beason and Thomas Davis CAR – Neither of these guys should be available in any league, but if you have to choose between good and better, you might want to consider playing these guys this week.

LB – Paul Posluszny BUF – With the way Oakland has been running the ball, the “Poz” has an excellent match-up on Sunday. If you are stuck with a fill-in LB need for week #3, Keith Ellison might be a good waiver grab.

LB – Mike Vrabel NE – This is one of those weeks that I recommend starting a New England LB. The match-up is a good one, however, the question really is which Patriot LB will be the point producer against the Dolphins?

S – Jarrad Page KC – Watch Turner run this week. Watch Turner run into Kansas City’s backfield. Watch Jarrad Page have a great week.

S – Oshiomogho Atogwe StL – Seattle vs. St. Louis – what a barn-burner this game will be. Atogwe is fairly inconsistent, but this should be a good match-up for him.

CB – Walt Harris SF – The Lions will be throwing the ball (or at least they should be). Harris is a solid IDP guy and this week should be above average for him.

CB – Marlin Jackson IND – Jacksonville is giving up some high IDP points to CBs this season so dust off ol’ Marlin and throw him into the mix this week.

These are some of my recommendations for week #3 – thanks for reading!
