The entry fee is $25 and first place takes home $25,000!

Week 13

The standard salary cap is $60,000. The familiar names and studs will put a dent in your salary cap so you will need to find some value picks along the way. This contest includes only the Sunday games so you’ll have until 1pm kickoff when rosters lock to sign up.

QUARTERBACK

Josh McCown
$6,100 – McCown will be a bargain pick this weekend against the Vikings. He should be a solid 15-20 point QB.

I expected
Cam Newton‘s price to be more than $8,600 since he is an automatic 20-point with the upside for more. However, the Bucs have been playing better and Carolina is due for a loss, which I thought was coming last week. Newton put up 27 points against the Bucs on a Thursday in Tampa Bay a few weeks ago, so look for him to repeat that effort.

RUNNING BACKS

Andre Brown
– $7,100 – Solid price with a good matchup.

Shane Vereen – $6,200 – Only .5 point per reception, but puts up double digit points.

Frank Gore – $6,800 – Great matchup against the Rams at home.

Fred Jackson – $5,700 – He is still going to get the ball often and is the goal line RB.

Injury Alert
: If
Knowshon Moreno cannot play,
Montee Ball at $4,500 is a steal. I would plug him in with

Frank Gore

for a very affordable RB duo. Gore is locked in my lineup this week. If Moreno plays, my second choice would be Vereen.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Josh Gordon
has finally emerged from the cheap price tag he was holding all season. From a suspended Week 1 price of $5,500, Gordon will now cost you $8,400. He has a golden matchup against the Jaguars this week if you can afford him.

After seeing, yet again, how bad the Redskins defense was on Monday night, I am going to consider putting
Victor Cruz in my lineup at $6,500 this week.

Hakeem Nicks

is banged up and the early word is his status is still unclear for Sunday night.
Rueben Randle is $5,100 so if I want to load up on two other studs, Randle would fill in nicely as my WR3 if Nicks were to sit.

Keenan Allen
is listed at $6,500 as well and is coming off a big game against the Chiefs. If you are looking to jump right in on
Percy Harvin, $5,700 is well worth the risk. The top WR plays of the studs this week would be
A.J. Green at $8,800 against the Chargers secondary and
Brandon Marshall ($9,100) at Minnesota. Marshall’s last four games include outputs of 22, 6, 29, and 20. He has not missed a beat with McCown.

TIGHT ENDS

Rob Gronkowski
– $8,200 – As you may know by now, I love to spend the money on a high-priced tight end. Gronkowski is comparable to a top-end WR, but you can find top WR value at a cheaper price while the TE position cannot offer that. Only
Vernon Davis at $6,100 or
Jordan Reed at $5,500 can be that option. If Reed is healthy, I would consider putting him in my lineup and save $2,700 to upgrade another slot.

KICKERS & DEFENSES

Pick your poison at the kicker position in the $5,000 price range:

Choice:
Adam Vinatieri – $5,000

Alternatives
:
Robbie Gould,
Nick Folk

As for defense, look at the lower priced options if you cannot spend a couple hundred extra:

Choice:
Carolina
Panthers – $5,300 – I like the Panthers at this price even though the Bucs have been hot. The Panthers are home and are the best value of Week 13.

Alternatives
:
If you only can spend the minimum:

Bears
@ MIN,
Vikings v CHI,
Jets v MIA,
Colts v TEN

Good luck in Week 13 and Happy Thanksgiving!
