DRAFT DAY: Impact Players for 2017

With the NFL Draft being only weeks away, we can only imagine where some of our favorite college players are going to end up and how they are going to do. This week, I decided to share some of my projections for some of these players and what I am expecting them to do for the 2017 season.

QB Mitch Trubisky to the Cleveland Browns

I am one of those believers that Cleveland will select Trubisky with the 12th pick overall and in him it will have its franchise quarterback that it has been chasing. Trubisky will fit into coach Hue Jackson’s offense like a glove and Jackson will give him a great season despite being a Brown.

Projected Stat Line: 3,800 passing yards, 18 TD; 33 rushes, 125 yards, TD

RB Leonard Fournette to the Carolina Panthers

The projected crown jewel of the 2017 rookie class, who if he can land in Carolina will make a huge impact immediately. Jonathan Stewart is not known for his ability to stay on the field and needs a running mate to help stay healthy. Pairing Fournette with Cam Newton will create a powerful duo that will be great for years to come. Only downside is that I could see Stewart becoming a touchdown vulture and swiping some touchdowns from Fournette.

Projected Stat Line: 800 rushing yards, 9 TDs; 300 receiving yards, TD

WR Mike Williams to the Buffalo Bills

Buffalo has no receiving options outside of Sammy Watkins, and after coach Sean McDermott’s awful bluff last week stating, “the No. 2 wide receiver is on our roster,” I refuse to believe that Buffalo doesn’t go after someone in the draft. On another note, I also believe Tyrod Taylor is also going to get a huge fantasy value bump having a healthy Watkins and Williams.

Projected Stat Line: 60 receptions, 1,000 yards, 4 TD, 2-point conversion

TE O.J. Howard to the Denver Broncos

Tony Romo, Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian – whomever is throwing the ball is going to need more great players to throw to and Howard is it. Howard is a quick and dangerous weapon who has the frame to be a great blocker to help out whoever is under center this year in Denver.

Projected Stat Line: 50 receptions, 600 yards, 3 TD

And for all you IDP’ers:

LB Reuben Foster to the Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis has some of the worst linebackers in the league and couldn’t cover some of the worst teams last year. Fully expect the team to address this in the draft. In 2016, Foster had 115 tackles with 13 tackles for a loss and five sacks. I fully expect him to be able to convert those kind of numbers to the NFL immediately.

Projected Stat Line: 100 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 3 sacks

DL Myles Garrett to the Cleveland Browns

The undisputed No. 1 pick going. While I must shed a tear for someone of such value going from one of my favorite colleges (Texas A&M) to Cleveland, I believe he will still possess a great amount of value in leagues that have Individual Defensive Players.

Projected Stat Line: 40 tackles, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries

DB Jamal Adams to the Tennessee Titans

I like Tennessee picking up Logan Ryan for a cornerback, and I believe the team is going to solidify its secondary with a high draft pick on a safety. If Adams lands here, I believe he is going to have himself a busy season playing against Andrew LuckBlake Bortles and Tony Romo (possibly), and he will rack up a good amount of stats in the process.

Projected Stat Line: 90 tackles, 2 interceptions
