Tommy Maddox has struggled this year and has not lived up to his fantasy expectations. It could be that last season was a fluke, or that the running game isn’t working for the Steelers this season. More likely, it could just be that Maddox really isn’t that good of a quarterback. Well it really doesn’t matter because with 85% of the vote, Tommy became the 5th QB to be eliminated from the competition.
As for some of the better performances of the week: Steve McNair continues to live up to his “Air McNair” nickname. This week he led all passers by throwing for 421 Yds and 3 scores. All 3 were thrown to WR Derrick Mason, who had the biggest day of his pro career.
Trent Green was the other QB to reach 400 Yds, hitting that number exactly and also tossing for 3 TDs. Trent’s performance included a dramatic overtime bomb to WR Eddie Kennison for a huge comeback win over the Packers. The win keeps the Chiefs undefeated on the season. Trent is one of the two quarterbacks on the Fantasy Sharks HAFAX team, and despite our General Manager looking to bench him for Patrick Ramsey he led our squad to victory!
Brad Johnson continues to have a quiet yet dominating year for the World Champion Bucaneers. This week he threw for 268 Yds and 4 touchdowns. Brad has never been an elite fantasy quarterback and in fact isn’t even in our competition. However this season, he appears to be more comfortable with the offense and is making many a fantasy owner happy with a solid waiver wire or late round draft pickup.

We have an interesting matchup this week for your voting pleasure: Tom Brady and Drew Bledsoe. Just two years ago, these two led the Patriots to be Superbowl Champions. Now they face each other in what could be considered the greatest test of their careers, the Ultimate Fantasy Quarterback challenge!
Tom Brady (New England) – The Patriots offense has never dominated, even in their Superbowl year. But this season the running game by committee has continued to struggle and the wide receivers are hurting. Even with a banged up defense, that unit is still carrying the team and keeping them in the AFC East race. Tom threw for only 112 Yds and no touchdowns this week for 5 fantasy points.
Drew Bledsoe (Buffalo) – Drew and the Bills started the season off strong. But with injuries to RB Travis Henry and WR Eric Moulds already this season, the offense in Buffalo is struggling. They managed just 3 points against a weak NY Jets squad and allowed the boys from New York to get their first win of the season. Drew threw for 202 Yds and no touchdowns for 10 fantasy points.
You have the power to decide who leaves the competition this week. Is it Tom Brady or the man he replaced in New England, Drew Bledsoe? Who will be the Ultimate Fantasy Quarterback?
