Vinnie has another good week, I’ll take 2 out of 3 every week.
SD won outright, Chicago played close enough to cover the overly large 10.5, and Denver lost their QB, otherwise a backdoor cover was well in sight. We have a BIG week planned for week #8. Another 5 star selection, just keep reading…
Denver +1.5 @ Baltimore: Yes, Denver has Clinton Portis, and Shannon Sharpe returns ‘home’ to his former Superbowl team. But, Denver is lacking their top 2 QB’s. Danny Kannell is starting for the Broncos. On the road, a newbie QB, and some film against a possible dominant D defense is not the side I want to be on. There is only one way to bet this game. Baltimore -1.5 (2 Stars)
St. Louis +1.5 @ Pittsburgh Steelers: Marc Bulger returns home (he used to play at Central Catholic in the burg). The Rams have a potent passing offense, and the Steelers have a problem defending the pass. But, the return of Jerome Bettis as the every-down starter at RB (especially against his old team, the Rams), is enough to push the Steelers to a dominating win. If the Steelers line was in better shape, this might be higher than a 2 star play. Steelers -1.5 (2 Stars)
New York Giants +5.5 @ Minny Vikings: Everyone loves to bet on the unbeaten teams, but the Giants play a lot of close ballgames. Take the points to the bank. Giants +5.5 (2 Stars)
Carolina +1.5 @ New Orleans: Hey, New Orleans beat up on the Falcons, the Saints must be really good. Hey, wake up call, the Falcons are so bad, their management just took out a full page ad in the Atlanta newspaper apologizing to their fans. Other than the mistake loaded first half of last week’s game, the Panthers have played a great season. The Saints just look for an excuse to fall apart. Plus Jake Delhomme, the Panthers QB, wants to show the Saints organization they bet on the wrong horse when they chose Aaron Brooks instead of him. This is a no-brainer for me, the wrong team is favored. Carolina Panthers +1.5 (Try the moneyline if you can get it). 5 Stars!!!
That’s enough excitement for one weekend of sports!
Panthers +1.5 (5 Stars)
Baltimore Ravens -1.5 (2 Stars)
Pittsburgh Steelers -1.5 (2 Stars)
New York Giants +5.5 (2 Stars)
