VIP Services – Grab Bag – Week 5 Waiver Plays

Here are the recommended grabs for Week 5:

Jay Cutler, CHI

Cutler will be playing from behind and Alshon Jeffery should be back soon.  He is a matchup dependent QB2.

Brian Hoyer, HOU

Hoyer should be in the conversation to start after Mallet’s miserable performance.  He is a low end QB2 in bye weeks.

Matt Cassel, DAL

Weeden didn’t lose them the game, but they lost the game.  Cassel will get some time soon.

Johnson had 9 catches and a TD and only 4 less carries than Crowell.  He emerged as part of the offense and will have a role going forward.  He’s a perfect bye-week flex.
Spiller showed he is healthy on his 80 yard jaunt to the end zone.  The Saints desperately need him to get involved to win games.
C.J. Anderson hasn’t been able to get going, so Hillman has to be considered Denver’s lead back.  That makes him a viable RB2.
With Smith out Aiken emerged as the Ravens go-to receiver and he will be a lower end WR2 with upsode going forward.
Hurns isn’t the WR 1 he looked  like today, but he will dominate possession work and should see about 10 to 12 targets a game.
Crowder had 6 for 75 and it was clear Cousins likes throwing ot him.  The athletic youngster is on the way up.
Snead looked like a world beater against Dallas.  He’s not, but Brees loves throwing to him and he is clearly the Saints TE to won.
Gary Barnridge, CLE
I thought it was just the Raiders, but Gary scored again.  McCown loves shooting to him so he becomes a high end TE2.
The Raiders have now given up 6 TDs in 4 weeks to TEs this season, with Martellus Bennett pulling in 11 catches this week.  That bodes well for the  Owen Daniels/Virgil Green combo, each of them may score.
