Week 9 has been full of some very exciting quarterback duels.
Then there were the unexpected shootouts such as Marcus Mariota going touchdown for touchdown against Drew Brees as well as Derek Carr outperforming Ben Roethlisberger (granted Ben left the game early with a foot injury).
Let’s take a look at some other things that caught Uncle Waldo’s attention this week.
First and foremost as a Detroit Lions fan I am happy to report that they did not lose this week.
Yes. They were on a bye. Yes, it’s another low-hanging fruit moment for Uncle Waldo.
Another 100-plus yards rushing day for Darren McFadden? What is the world coming to?
I’m afraid that even though Johnny did target him seven times, Barnidge owners need Josh McCown to get back under center for this magical run to continue.
I am not worried about Tyler Eifert at all. The kid continues to light up the TE landscape with three more touchdowns.
Nice. Very nice.
No. Do not consider rostering him in even the deepest of leagues. Not only has that ship sailed…. that ship has sunk.
Yep. That sounds about right. Sometimes we just have to laugh it off…and then bang our heads against a wall.
Watching Vontaze Burfict intentionally knock over a television camera (injuring the camera man) reminded me of the Arizona State version of the kid.
Maybe this cat hasn’t changed its spots after all.
That does not bode well for Burfict staying out of trouble, which does not bode well for his NFL longevity.
It appears that LeSean McCoy is finally getting his ‘sea legs’ for the Bills. Unfortunately, now we need to worry about the shoulder injury he suffered. Early reports are that the injury is not considered to be severe.
Karlos Williams returned this week and picked up where he left off with over 100 yards rushing and a pair of scores.
So maybe Drew Brees isn’t over the hill after all. The Saints offense is firing on all cylinders and now he’s scoring rushing touchdowns.
With that pitiful Saints defense, Brees will continue to have to put up huge numbers.
A loss to the Tennessee Titans where they post 34 points has to be the end for defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Doesn’t it?
Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Delanie Walker can back me up on this after that 61-yard touchdown he scored.
