Week 11

Welcome to this Turkey Day edition of the Ultimate Fantasy Runningback competition.  At the start of the season we took the top 18 projected Runningbacks and simulated a competition to answer the question:  Who is the Ultimate Fantasy Runningback?  There are only 8 names remaining on the list:  Alexander, Barber, Dillon, Green, Holmes, James, Johnson, and Tomlinson.  The competition will get tighter as all 8 of these guys have had a great year.  Even if you haven’t voted until now, stop by each Wednesday to cast your vote.

This week, the rushing carousel for the Panthers continued.  Those of you who picked up Nick Goings off the waiver wire were pleasantly surprised with his 121 YDs rushing and 3 TDs.  The way the Carolina backs are getting injured, don’t count on Goings to continue providing for your fantasy team but ride him while you can.

Edgerrin James had another big yardage week and actually scored a TD for the Colts.  His fantasy numbers have been suppressed this season with all the TDs going to the Wide Receivers and Tight Ends for Indianapolis.

Jamal Lewis and teammate Musa Smith (ooh that had to hurt real bad) both went out early with injuries.  Jamal was also eliminated from the competition this week with 71% of the votes.

Now onto the nominees for this week’s Ultimate Fantasy voting.

Current contestant list:

Shaun Alexander      Tiki Barber                         Kevan Barlow

Domanick Davis        Stephen Davis                   Corey Dillon

Marshall Faulk          Ahman Green                     Travis Henry

Priest Holmes           Edgerrin James                   Rudi Johnson

Jamal Lewis             Deuce McAllister                 Clinton Portis

Fred Taylor              Ladainian Tomlinson            Brian Westbrook

Each week we’ll take the 2 lowest fantasy producers based on the Fantasy Sharks scoring system and put them up for an elimination vote.

Ahman Green injured his knee early in the game against the Texans.  He continued to try and play but was ineffective so he was replaced.  He finished the game with 5 carries for 15 YDs and only 1 fantasy point.

Rudi Johnson rushed 16 times for 62 YDs and 6 fantasy points.  He was shut down pretty well by the Steelers defense and didn’t do much to help his team.

This week again we’ll have a third choice as Priest Holmes sat out with a sprained knee.  His replacement didn’t do much to help as Derrick Blaylock rushed for only 58 YDs against the New England Patriots on Monday Night.

So it is now time to vote, one of these three backs is headed to waiver wire.  Place your vote here.
