The voting this week was real close as Rudi Johnson narrowly edged out Priest Holmes with 45% of your votes. Of course Rudi lived up to his part of the deal and had a huge game the week he was eliminated. This past week he rushed for 202 YDs and 2 TDs and helped the Bengals win a division game over the hapless Browns. Priest owners can only hope for a little of that production come fantasy playoff time.
Willis McGahee was the star this week. The resurgent Buffalo Bills have really played well since he became the starter and his competition, Travis Henry, is now out with a broken leg. McGahee rushed for 116 YDs and 4 TDs in a big win over the Seahawks.
Michael Pittman had a big day, not running the ball but receiving it. He had 8 catches for 134 YDs and 2 TDs. Pittman is quietly having a decent year after missing the first 4 games due to a suspension.
One last runningback to mention is rookie Julius Jones. Jones carried the ball 33 times for 150 YDs and 2 TDs leading the Cowboys to a Thanksgiving day victory over the Chicago Bears and his older brother Thomas.
Now onto the nominees for this week’s Ultimate Fantasy voting.
Current contestant list:
Shaun Alexander Tiki Barber Kevan Barlow
Domanick Davis Stephen Davis Corey Dillon
Marshall Faulk Ahman Green Travis Henry
Priest Holmes Edgerrin James Rudi Johnson
Jamal Lewis Deuce McAllister Clinton Portis
Fred Taylor Ladainian Tomlinson Brian Westbrook
Each week we’ll take the lowest fantasy producers based on the Fantasy Sharks scoring system and put them up for an elimination vote.
This week we have 2 guys who are not playing because of injuries, Priest Holmes and Ahman Green. Priest narrowly escaped elimination last week and there are questions about whether he will return at all this season. Ahman sat out his first game of the year with injured ribs. His replacement Najeh Davenport had a nice game on Monday night with 178 YDs rushing and a TD.
Shaun Alexander came up real small in a loss to the Buffalo Bills this week. He carried the ball 13 times for just 39 YDs and 3 fantasy points.
So it is now time to vote, one of these three backs is headed to waiver wire. Place your vote here.
