Week 7 in Review

Titans 38 — Texans 36

Entering the 4th, the Titans led 32-7. The fans were hitting the exits hoping to make it home in time for the late games. Little did they know when they turned on CBS when they got home, the game was still going on. The Texans had scored TWENTY-NINE fourth quarter points and took a 36-35 lead. However, they left

Kerry Collins enough time to lead the Titans to victory.

Rob Bironas kicked the game winner from 29 yards out to cap off his day going 8 for 8, which set an NFL record. LenDale White rolled for 104 yards and a TD on 27 carries.

Chris Henry also saw some action finishing the day with 57 yards and a score.

Matt Schaub left the game early for the Texans and

Sage Rosenfels replaced him. He was bad early with a few picks, but staged the late comeback throwing four 4th quarter touchdowns. He finished the game with those four TD’s, 3 INT’s, and 290 yards.

Ahman Green got 11 carries for 39 yards on the ground for

Kevin Walter and

Davis each caught a TD pass. The Texans have now fallen to 3-4 after a promising start to the year.

Tennessee improved to 4-2 with the win.

Patriots 49 — Dolphins 28

This game didn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know. The Patriots are unstoppable and

Miami is bad. A combination of the two calls for an ugly ending for the home team.

Tom Brady threw 5 TD’s…in the first half. He completed just 21 passes for 354 yards. Brady did leave the game, but later returned in the 4th quarter after

Miami “narrowed” the lead. Brady finished the game with 6 touchdowns.

Wes Welker (9-138) and

Randy Moss (4-122) each had two,

Donte Stallworth (3-51) had one, and the tight end

Kyle Brady (3-10) had one.

Laurence Maroney did play, but got only 6 carries.

Evans, and

Eckel also received carries for the Pats.

The only offense that the Dolphins seem to have,

Ronnie Brown, left the game early due to injury, but had 76 yards rushing and 33 yards receiving.

Jesse Chatman had 73 yards and a TD in relief of Brown.

Cleo Lemon finished the game with a rushing TD and 236 yards in the air.

Miami will now face the Giants in a

London home game next weekend as they search for their first win of 2007.

Giants 33 — 49ers 15

Five straight. That’s right. Five straight wins for the Giants as they rolled over the 49ers at home. They were led by

Brandon Jacobs, who carried 18 times for 107 yards and a TD. The Giants 3-headed backfield seems to be working for them.

Tiki Who? Oh,

Tiki Barber, the man who was showered with boo’s by the 78,000+ at the Meadowlands when he was shown on the big screen for one of the best performances by a Giants RB of all time.

Burress did not have a TD for the first time in a game this season, but

Shockey and

Toomer each had one.

Eli Manning threw for 146 yards, 2 TD’s, and an INT.

Trent Dilfer was hurried, hit, and sacked all day long by the Giant front four. He finished the day with 209 yards, 2 TD’s, and 2 INT’s. He also fumbled and Giants DE

Osi Umenyiora returned it to the house.

Gore rushed for 88 yards on just 14 carries. The Niners have now dropped four straight after their quick 2-0 start. The Giants will travel to

London to take on the winless Dolphins. It will be a tricky game for the G-Men since the Dolphins are bound to win sometime.

Saints 22 — Falcons 16

The Saints have now won two straight after a home win against the Falcons.

Reggie Bush muscled his way into the endzone to give the Saints the lead in the 4th quarter. He finished the day with 73 total yards and a score.

Drew Brees threw for 219 yards, 2 scores, and a pick.

Thomas had a 24-yard TD run for

New Orleans in the 2nd half. The Saints are now 2-4 and will travel to struggling

San Francisco next week.

Byron Leftwich left the game with an injury and

Harrington replaced him.

Roddy White had a solid day with 110 receiving yards and TD from

Leftwich. The Vick-less Falcons are now 1-6 and will head into the bye. Good news for fantasy owners since you shouldn’t own anyone from the ATL.

Lions 23 — Bucs 16

stepped up and won a game that they needed to have to be even considered legitimate. They improved to 4-2 with the win and didn’t do anything through the air. They did it on the ground against the

Tampa defense.

Kevin Jones rushed for 76 yards, caught 6 balls for 34 yards and had a TD.

Calvin Johnson had a 32-yard TD run in the 4th quarter. He also led the team with 37 receiving yards.

Jon Kitna threw for only 147 yards in the win.

It’s a fantasy owner’s dream to see your players’ team having

Detroit on the schedule.

Jeff Garcia had a great fantasy day completing 37 passes for 316 yards and 2 TD’s.

Earnest Graham had a great day with 92 rushing yards and 99 receiving yards.

Ike Hilliard caught 9 balls for 92 yards and a score for

Tampa in the loss, which dropped them to 4-3.

Redskins 21 — Cardinals 19

The Redskins escaped with a win against

Arizona in a game they had controlled until the 4th quarter. The Cards failed on a 2-point conversion with 21 seconds to go to tie the game, but got the onside kick and set themselves up for a potential game winning kick from 55 yards out. However,

Rackers missed wide left and the Skins held on. For the losers, Warner threw for 281 yards, 2 TD’s, and 2 INT’s.

Boldin had both TD’s while

Fitzgerald had 97 yards.

Edge rushed 27 times for 83 yards.

Portis had just 43 yards on the ground, but scored twice.

Campbell had an awful fantasy day with just 95 yards passing and a pick. The Skins are now 4-2 and will fall to 4-3 after next week’s game….

They travel to

New England.

Bills 19 — Ravens 14

The Bills defeated

Baltimore in

Willis McGahee’s return to

Willis did have a nice day with 114 yards and a TD, something Bills fans were not used to. However, the replacement for

Lynch, rushed 27 times for 84 yards and a score. Lee Evans had 5 catches for 98 yards as

Trent Edwards picked up his 2nd win as a starter.

Kyle Boller threw for 191 yards and a TD for the Ravens.

Derrick Mason caught 7 balls for 78 yards and a score.

Baltimore fell to 4-3 with the loss and now fall into the muck of the AFC.

Chiefs 12 — Raiders 10

LJ arrived? He rushed for 112 yards and a TD in the Chiefs win over the Raiders in the black hole.

Damon Huard threw for 177 yards and an INT as the rookie,

D-Bowe led the team with 84 yards. The Chiefs are now 4-3 and remain a half game ahead in the win column over the idle Chargers.

Ronald Curry scored the lone touchdown for the Raiders on 21-yard pass from

Daunte Culpepper that temporarily gave them the lead.

Culpepper finished the day with 228 yards, a TD, and INT.

Jordan totaled 69 yards while

Dominic Rhodes had 21 rushing yards.

Bengals 38 — Jets 31

Who was the difference maker for the Bengals in their win?

Carson Palmer? Nope.

TJ Houshmandzadeh? Not so much.

Ocho Cinco? No. It was

Kenny Watson, who rushed 31 times for 130 yards and 3 scores against the Jets.

Carson Palmer connected with TJ Housh for the only passing TD.

Chad Johnson had 102 yards while

Housh had 43. Cincy improved to 2-4 and is not dead yet, but they must improve their defense.

It’s not

Chad. He cannot be blamed for the Jets woes, but something has to give.

Coles caught 8 passes from

Chad, two of which were touchdowns, for 133 yards.

Cotchery caught 6 balls for 60 yards and a TD. His TD came on the last play of the game on a Hail Mary deflection.

Thomas Jones rumbled for 67 yards on 19 carries. The Jets are now 1-6 and they may as well J-E-T-S…

Seahawks 33 — Rams 6

Not much to say here other than the Rams are awful, even with

Bulger at QB.

Matt Hasselbeck led the Seahawks with 195 yards, 2 TD’s, and 1 INT.

Alexander rushed for just 47 yards in the game as

Morris and

Weaver are seeing more time.

Bobby Engram caught 6 balls for 73 yards.

Marc Bulger threw 3 interceptions to go along with his 2 fumbles and 225 yards.

Torry Holt had 8 catches for 82 yards in the loss.

St. Louis is now 0-7.

Cowboys 24 — Vikings 14

The Cowboys special teams made the difference in this game after a 3rd quarter 68-yard blocked FG return.

Tony Romo went 31/39 with 277 yards and a TD pass to

T.O. finished with 7 catches for 103 yards on the day.

Jason Witten caught 10 balls for 86 yards as he continued his hot streak.

Marion Barber got the bulk of the work with 19 carries for 96 yards and a score.

Dallas improved to 6-1 with the win.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 63 yards and a TD, but had a costly fumble which gave

Dallas the game for good.

Tarvaris Jackson threw for only 72 yards in the loss. The Vikings fell to 2-4 with the loss.

Bears 19 — Eagles 16

11 plays, 97 yards in 1:43. That was the game-winning drive by the Bears in the 4th quarter on Sunday. The Birds led by 4 and the Bears needed to drive the length of the field. They did just that, led by

Brian Griese.

Griese finished the day with 322 yards and a TD.

Benson rushed for only 46 yards while

Muhsin Muhammad caught the game winner to go along with his 79 yards.

The Eagles are now in trouble standing at 2-4.

Donovan McNabb threw for 226 yards and a TD while

Westbrook was held in check for the most point. He had 79 rushing yards and 40 receiving yards on 6 catches.

Curtis led all Eagle wide outs with 62 yards.

Broncos 31 — Steelers 28

The Steelers roared back in the 4th quarter to tie the game, but

Elam nailed a 49-yard game winning FG as time expired.

It was a solid day for both QB’s in fantasy as

Cutler tossed for 248 yards, 3 TD’s, and 2 INT’s.

Brandon Stokely,

Tony Scheffler, and

Cecil Sapp were recipients of Cutler’s TD’s.

Brandon Marshall led the Broncos WR’s with 6 catches for 77 yards.

Big Ben threw for 290 yards, 4 TD’s, and 2 INT’s in a losing effort.

Miller was his favorite “Heinz red-zone” target as he caught 2 TD’s and totaled 50 receiving yards.

Santonio Holmes caught 6 balls for 54 yards and a score. Meet the 2007

Tiki Barber.

Willie Parker continues to pile up yards, but not TD’s. He ran for 93 yards on 21 carries and added 2 catches for 34 yards. The Steelers are now 4-2 and will face the Bengals in Cincy next week.

Monday Night Football

Colts @

– If this game gets off to a fast start, advantage Colts. If the Jaguars are able to play their type of football at home, which is a defensive and grind-it-out game, they’ll be in it till the end. I still like the Colts in this one.

My prediction:

24-17 Colts
