Whale Shark Interview Form – cwypaco

Congrats cwypaco on becoming another of our our Whale Sharks, 1000 messages on the Msg Boards!!
Thanks! It helps me stay away from all the unimportant stuff on my to-do list. Such as eat, sleep and work! Seriously, I just love to talk football and you guys make it way too easy. What can I say? You guys have built a great site and I’m addicted.

So, tell us a bit about yourself. Looks like you like Sports, Women, Beer, Sports, Women, Beer. Which is it?
All of the above! And not necessarily in that order either. Depends on the day I guess. My job requires me to supply youth football uniforms and equipment to midget teams all across the country, so football is constantly on the brain. And I’d have to assume that most of the male gender is partial to women and beer!

And what about that Avatar picture of yours. Who’s wins? The cat or the mouse?
Depends on how strong my resistance is that day. The mouse is the ‘good’ side of the brain, always trying to keep my outta trouble. The cat, well, he’s no good. Sadly, the cat wins more often than not. It seems he’s kinda partial to the women and beer thing too.

So it looks like your from Pennsylvania. So which are you? A Steeler fan or Eagle fan?
None of the above. Too many of those diehards around these parts. I decided long ago to be different, so I mad up my mind to join the Redskins on the warpath. Problem is they’re the ones getting scalped lately. Where oh where have you gone Joe Gibbs?

And what do you make of their season so far?
The opposite end of good. They have some talent, no doubt, but I’m just not sure that Spurrier’s system can win in the NFL on a consistent basis. Sure it worked at Florida, where he had better athletes than most of his opponents. Too many receivers out in the pattern in the NFL usually means a long day for your QB. Which in turn makes for a long season for the Redskins.

How about your favorite NFL Player, past and present?
Favorite player of the past is Darrell Green. Sure he’s wasn’t a stud superstar like some of the past greats, but he was one heck of a cornerback and an even better human being. My favorite player today is Brett Favre, hands down. The talent is obvious, but what separates him from the rest is his love for the game. He’s just a pleasure to watch compete.

Nice. Let’s move on then. So how long have you been participating in Fantasy Football?
This is my seventh year. I never thought I would enjoy this much, but I’m hooked!

And how many leagues are you involved in?

I’m currently involved in three leagues. I used to be involved with several more, but it became way too confusing and my brain simply couldn’t handle it.

And the Team Name(s). Any meaning behind them?
1. Dirty Damus-reference to my dirt digging black lab who’s always trying to burrow under the fence.

2. Slobbering Siena-reference to my doberman who can’t seem to keep water in her mouth.

3. Str82DaTop-work league that I had to come up with a name for quickly.

So what do you think your best and worst pick of the year was?
Chad Johnson in the 7th round turned out to be nice. I took Gannon in the 6th round, and we all know how that story ends.

Great. Let’s finish up with talking about FantasySharks.com a bit. How did you come to find us?
Just typed in fantasy football on Yahoo search, and eventually came to your site. It’s the only fantasy site left that I visit on a regular basis.

How about your favorite FantasySharks feature or article?
Oh, I like them all. There’s my obvious addiction to the forums, but I also love reading the Fantasy Virgin, The Prog, the week in review. All excellent stuff!

Ahh..our resident Virgin. It’s like a cult following with that guy. I can’t even explain it!   Ok. On to the message boards. How’s the community going these days?
Constant traffic on the boards these days. There seems to be new members all the time, and everyone seems to have really sound advice. There’s no other message boards like it. None even come close.

Any particular poster that you respect the most?
I respect everyone that puts their opinion on the line, whether I agree with it or not. There is definitely a core group of members though, and they know who they are, who all have great opinions and great reasoning to back it up. I would like to point out DynastyForce and Hemol however, since it appears they were the 1st ones to figure out how great this site was. I think they deserve some props for that, plus you should always be nice to your elders!

Great. Last question. Still going to be with us at 2000 posts?
Unless the Redskins need me to rectify all the wrongs they have made over the last decade and become the next head coach, then I’ll still be here. I’d say the odds are pretty good!

Thanks again for being such an active poster on the message boards! And congratulations on becoming a Whale Shark!!
