Whale Shark Interview – Stinkweasles

Congrats Stinkweasels on becoming another one of our Whale Shark, 1000 messages on the Msg Boards!! I don’t even know what to say. You joined October 21st, you’re a Whale Shark 2 weeks later. Wow.
What can I say? I was super-bored at my old job so I put my fingers to the test. It helps that there are so many posters worth talking to in the tank.

So tell us a bit about yourself. Why the name Stinkweasels?
I named my fantasy football team after my ex-pet ferret Weezy, who stunk. It’s as simple as that. I guess it sounded funny to me.

From your profile your interest is Cheese? Huh?
I can’t get enough of the stuff….it doesn’t matter what kind or where it’s from. Cottage Cheese doesn’t count though. It only wishes it were a real cheese. I’m a big fan of Pepper Jack though.

Right. So, looks like you’re from Austin Texas. Cowboys fan or Texans fan? Or are you just a big Longhorn fan?
I’m mainly a fan…I don’t really care what team is playing as long as some of my fantasy squad is on the field.

And your favorite NFL Player then?
Check my roster…I like to see my players do well and my opposition stink it up. I like watching Domanick Davis and Portis run though. As a bandwagon Bengals fan, I’m liking that big-mouthed Chad Johnson quite a bit too.

So what’s your take on Bill Parcells this year?
He seems to have those Cowgirls playing pretty well. I love him as a coach…never satisfied with anything. I guess that’s the only way to avoid complacency.

Let’s move onto Fantasy Football. So how long have you been participating in it?
This is my third year. My first season was rough…4 wins. I came back the next year and with a combination of incredible luck, sweet scheduling, some nice matchups, and genius roster moves, won my league. I’m not performing up to standard this year, but my division is weak and I can still win it and move on to the playoffs, where I hope Kitna and my RB’s can win it for me again.

And how many leagues are you involved in?
I’ve got two Yahoo leagues that I don’t pay attention to and my money league which gets all my time (well…the time I don’t spend in the Tank).

And the Team Name(s). Any meaning behind them?
One is “I Own You” because it’s a great team…on paper.
Another is the “Austin Stinkweiners”…a play on Stinkweasels.
And the one that counts is the “Stinkweasels”.

So what do you think your best and worst pick of the year was?
Right now, only Chad Johnson, Travis Henry and Baltimore’s DST are remaining from my draft. I think CJ was a great pick in the 6th round. What a bargain. My forte has to be trades…got Coles for Thrash, McNair for Collins, Kitna off the waiver, Hearst for Dillon and my WR’s all came from trades. Now I got Portis for McNair and Dom Davis for Terrell Owens, who came to me in a trade, so I’ve got an ever-changing roster. I think the Portis deal is going to be huge though.

Great. Let’s talk about FantasySharks.com a bit. How did you come to find us?
Google, man.

Do you even have a favorite FantasySharks feature or article yet?
The Whale Sharks interviews, of course! I like the Lineup coach and the Ultimate QB thing. Fun times.

Ok. On to the message boards. So tell us how you did it so quickly…what’s your secret?
I completely blew off my former job. It was a 40 hour a week job to get to Whale status that fast. I wouldn’t recommend trying it unless you don’t care if you get fired or have a new job already lined up.

Do you prefer getting advice or giving it then?
Both….I’ve gotten great responses from DrGooglemover, Hard10, and a slew of others.

Great. Last question. Still going to be with us 2 weeks from now?
Not as much. I just started a new job that takes a lot of time and concentration, but will be checking in periodically to see how my Sharks are doing.

Thanks again for being such an active poster on the message boards! And congratulations on becoming a Whale Shark!!
Thanks for giving me the forum to use. It’s a great website. GO GUBER!!!
